The City of Champaign 2014 Fall Yard Waste Collection has been scheduled and will start with the Orange Zone on Monday, October 6, 2014.  The Blue Zone collections will begin on Monday, October 13, 2014.  Please see the map below to locate your collection zone and day of the week that your yard waste will be collected.

The City of Urbana will collect leaves and non-woody plant materials the following weeks this autumn on your U-Cycle collection day.

*Leaves (or non-woody plant material) must be set in paper lawn & garden bags for curbside collection by 6 AM on your U-Cycle collection day.  No tree branches or brush is accepted.

Central Illinois Business magazine, published by The News-Gazette, has announced the winners of its seventh annual Forty Under 40 Awards.
 
The awards recognize young professionals for their achievements, experience, innovation, leadership and community involvement. The magazine solicited nominations from the community, and an independent panel of judges reviewed the nominations and chose the 40 winners, including a Woman of the Year and Man of the Year.

There are many different types of mold and most types are not harmful. Black mold is the bad kind. As a tenant you can help yourself (and your landlord) by notifying the maintenance people as soon as you see anything that looks like mold. But, please don’t freak out and assume that you have black mold and start calling the City, State and County officials claiming the sky is falling!
