Coordinator’s Corner

It was great to see all of you come to the Refinery on February 16th to learn more about Stormwater Utility Fee. It is such a nice facility to have our meetings in and the lunch was wonderful as well. I appreciated all the RSVPs that were sent in. Please note that RSVPs are important for food prep, table set up and paperwork. Please keep an eye out for e-mails, e-vites and other meeting reminders to get your RSVP in early. Don’t forget to RSVP to me for March 15th general meeting to get it on your calendar now.

Thank you, C.I.R.P.P. Coordinator, Marita

IRPOA Needs Your Voice

Over the past month the IRPOA Political Action Committee has been working on either blocking or amending HB506. Under existing Illinois law, a property that is leased and where the tenant is responsible for the tax payment may have a homestead exemption applied. I have attached a letter we delivered to legislators that explains why the homestead exemption is important for leased property and our original position on the issue. Because of opposition the bill was not voted on during the regular veto session. The legislature is coming back for one day on November 29th.

C.I.R.P.P. After Hours (M*A*C*) event at Seven Saints!

What’s the best way to really get to know your fellow C.I.R.P.P. members? By hanging out together in a casual setting. And where can you do just that? At the C.I.R.P.P. After Hours (M*A*C*) event at Seven Saints!

Last month was the kickoff for this new event and everyone agreed it was a hit. There was no speaker, no agenda, and no handouts to follow along with… just an awesome group of C.I.R.P.P. members and their guests enjoying appetizers, drinks, and each other’s company.
